Christy Brown's moving autobiography about growing up in a poor, working-class family in Ireland, with the debilitating neurological disorder of cerebral palsy, was given a film adaptation in 1989, winning Oscar's for both it's protagonisist's, Daniel Day-Lewis and Brenda Fricker.
